Second, the structural characteristics of the transmission chain
1、Roller chain
Roller chain is composed of roller 1, sleeve 2, pin 3, inner chain plate 4 and outer chain plate 5. The inner chain plate and the sleeve, and the outer chain plate and the pin are connected by interference coupling. The roller and the sleeve and the sleeve and the pin are gap fit. When the inner and outer chain plates are flexed relative to each other, the sleeve can rotate freely around the pin. When the roller is live on the sleeve, the roller rolls along the tooth profile of the sprocket, which reduces the wear of the tooth profile. The wear of the chain mainly occurs on the contact surface of the pin and the sleeve. Therefore, a small gap should be left between the inner and outer chain plates so that the lubricating oil can penetrate between the friction surface of the pin and the sleeve. The inner and outer chain plates are made in the shape of 8, in order to make each section of the chain have similar tensile strength, and also to reduce the quality of the chain and the inertia force during the movement.
When the transmission chain is used, the first and the last are connected to form a ring. When the number of chain links is even, the joints can be lapped by the inner and outer chain plates and locked by inserting cotter pins or spring clips. If the number of links is odd, a transition link is needed to connect the first and the last. When the chain is pulled, the transition link will be subject to additional bending moment, so the chain with even number of links should be used as much as possible.
The basic parameters of roller chain and sprocket engagement are pitch p, roller outer diameter d1 and inner link width b1, where pitch is the main parameter of roller chain. When the pitch increases, the size of each part in the chain should be increased accordingly, and the power that can be transmitted also increases. However, when the number of teeth of the chain wheel is certain, the larger the pitch, the larger the diameter of the chain wheel D. In order to make D not too large, when the load is large, the double-row chain or multi-row chain with small pitch is available. The bearing capacity of multi-row chain is proportional to the number of rows, the more columns, the higher the bearing capacity. However, due to the manufacturing and installation errors, it is difficult to make the load of each row even, and the more the number of columns, the more serious the unevenness is.
Considering the history and current situation of chain production in China, and the fact that almost all countries in the world use imperial units for chain pitch, our chain standard GB1243.1-83 stipulates that the pitch is converted from imperial to metric units. The chain number is consistent with the corresponding international standard chain number, and the number of chain number multiplied by 25.4/16mm is the pitch value. The suffix A or B indicates A or B series respectively, A series is used for heavy load, important and high speed transmission, B series is used for general transmission.
Roller chain markings: chain number - number of rows * number of links Standard number
